Klockriketeatern's international large-scale production of the year, 3 MUSKETEERS - EAST OF VIENNA, crashes onto the scene of Finnish theatre and imagination on April 2nd 2016 in Tiivistämö, Suvilahti. Klockriketeatern's and the Latvian theatre Ģertrūdes ielas teātris' co-production spectacle takes the audience on an unexpected expedition to the borderlands of the EU: To the ideas, dreams, identities and realities found behind the imagery of the news that we are used to see.

Inspired by Dumas' beloved classic novel, 3 Musketeers - East of Vienna is an astonishing theatrical journey that combines political documentary theatre, old fashioned expedition spirit and absurd situational comedy at the Eastern boarders of Europe. In october 2015, the artistic group behind the production actually travelled east from Vienna; through Hungary, Romania, Moldova and Transnistria to Ukraine, towards Crimea and the Maidan, preparing for the performance itself. The extensive footage captured during these ten intense days of adventure between fiction and reality serve as foundation for both the setting and the script.

The characters of musketeers are performed by actors Carl Alm and Matti Raita from Klockriketeatern's ensemble. Raita is also behind the play's diverse music and sound design.  The third adventurous musketeer is performed by Noora Dadu, known for her roles in Minun Palestiinani and Eduskunta I-III . Dadu was awarded as Young Actress of the Year in 2015.

Director Valters Sīlis and dramaturg Jānis Balodis are hyped in their home country Latvia. They've done successful collaborations for years: In 2011-2012 the performances written by Balodis and directed by Sīlis were awarded as best plays in Latvia, two years in a row. Their collaborations have also been seen at numerous international festivals, such as Santarcangelo in Italy and Nordwind-festival in Berlin.
