"In 2012 I begun the performance trilogy on decision making. The result is a short film and an exhibition in addition to two performances. Now I want to finalize the trilogy with one final part, Reverie. It's a multidisciplinary artwork. The projects aim is to explore decisions and choices done in the past". - Director Martina Marti
Gnab Collective's trilogy on decision making culminates in the video installation Reverie. It's premiere is held on Wednesday 2nd March at Mad House Helsinki. It is directed by Martina Marti, with performers Inari Virmakoski and Jasmiina Sipilä. Reveries soundscape is created by musician Romulus Chiciuc and videos by photographer Emma Suominen, together with Marti.
Gnab Collective, a performance art group from Helsinki, has worked with the trilogy on decision making since 2011. The first part, Hamlet private, was a performance created for one viewer at a time, where the moment before making a decision was examined. The project has been performed already in five languages in four countries since 2012. The second part, Path, was a play performed at Hurjaruuth in Helsinki in 2014. Path explored what happens in the moment of taking a decision.
In their third and final part of the trilogy, Gnab collective is looking for colors and shades, that might be born in the moment when you turn around and look back at your past life. In the installation performance, the performers presence, video, music and talk are used to create an audiovisual entity, where viewers are allowed to create their own narrative.
Premiere 2nd March 8 p.m.
Other performances: 3rd March 10 p.m., 4th March 10 p.m. and 5th March at 9:30 p.m.
